Figs. 1-3 show an arrangement for cleaning the upper horizontal sealing surface of a door 4 in which the cleaning tools 2 are carried by a structure 5 which is itself mounted for vertical displacement in a mount 7 on a mobile bearer frame. An hydraulically operated piston and cylinder device 8 effects movement of the structure 5 between extreme positions determined by square sections 10, on the mount 7, which bear against angle sections 9, 11 on the structure 5. The tools are shown in a lower position for cleaning relatively small doors and may be moved upwardly for cleaning larger doors. Fig. 5 shows an arrangement for cleaning the vertical sealing surfaces, and also the door plug of an oven door in which a tool holder frame 13 is mounted for vertical movement on a support 14 rigidly connected to the mobile bearer frame. Vertical posts 15 are connected one to each side of the frame 13 and each post carries one set of cleaning tools 16a, 16b, arranged alternately, and a second similar set 17a, 17b. Additional holders 26 are pivotally mounted (by means, not shown) on the holders 22 and bear cleaning tools 27 for cleaning the oven chamber inner surfaces 28. The holders 26 can be moved closer to each other, by pivoting, to a position as shown in the chain lines, by a suitable drive mechanism. Means may be provided, in any of the above arrangements, to vibrate the cleaning tools to increase their cleaning efficiency.
